Organizations are facing increasing pressure from government bodies and society to adopt environmentally safe and sustainable practices. Commitment to the environment is no longer just a legal requirement, but also an expectation of customers and stakeholders. Waste Management involves mapping, analysis, classification and quantification of waste generated, beyond storage, identification and appropriate disposal. The main objective is to reduce negative impacts on the environment, following the guidelines of the National Solid Waste Policy, that emphasizes reuse, recycling and waste reduction.

This plan is a technical document that identifies the type and quantity of waste generated, as well as provides environmentally friendly guidelines for dealing with them at every stage, from generation to final disposal. Furthermore, it offers corporate advantages by allowing companies to make a profit from their waste. The obligation to prepare a PGRS applies to commercial and service establishments that generate waste

PGRSS

The Health Service Waste Management Plan (PGRSS) is a set of documents required by environmental and health surveillance agencies for all healthcare establishments. Its purpose is to reduce or eliminate waste generation and ensure that, when produced, are correctly handled, aimed at protecting workers, of the environment and public health.

The PGRSS aims to monitor the entire waste generation chain, from its origin to final disposal. This includes identifying risks at each stage and implementing emergency plans to minimize impacts on people's health and the environment in the event of accidents..

According to Anvisa Resolution No. 306/2004, Health Service Waste Generators (RSS) include all services related to human or animal health, covering home care, teaching and research institutions in the health sector, as well as mobile service units.

The absence of PGRSS in healthcare establishments can result in administrative penalties, ranging from warnings and fines to partial or total suspension of activities, and restrictive measures, such as the loss of licenses and tax incentives, as well as the impossibility of contracting with the public service. waste produced. Delivery of CONAMA inventory 313 is mandatory only for companies in some segments of the economy, which are defined in article 4 of CONAMA Resolution no. 313/2002. Companies that do not deliver Conama inventory 313 or who do so inappropriately, may be punished with notifications, fines and even suspension of the environmental operating license.
