Bonsucro is a worldwide non-profit organization, formed by a team of multi-stakeholders and aims to reduce the environmental and social impacts of sugarcane production, also taking into account the need for economic viability. For a product or process to be linked to Bonsucro, it must be certified by an independent certification body in accordance with the standard established by Bonsucro. (production pattern)
Bonsucro certification brings to society a competent network of control and mapping of data on production and detailing of the entire production chain. Thus reflecting on the best measures for each process, thread, products and waste generated, in order to continuously optimize the sector, and therefore, reduce the impacts generated by the plants on the environment.
She recognizes that acting responsibly contributes to the conservation of natural resources, provides decent and fair conditions for workers and promotes good relations with the community close to the area, certified property or company.
The new production standard
This is the first revision of the production standard, started in 2019. in may, the entity launched a ten-week public consultation with a deadline for the end of July.
The Production Standard is the central document of the Bonsucro certification system. It is the one that presents theenvironmental requirements, social and operational aspects for the sustainable production and processing of sugarcane.
The query is 100% open to the participation of any interested parties., whether or not a member/certified in Bonsucro.
