THE CYCLE OF DISASTERS CAUSED BY ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS
The environmental impacts resulting from climate change bring, just as the planet's inevitable adaptation, disastrous consequences for human civilization.
Of course with global warming, glaciers at the poles and tops of mountain ranges tend to melt resulting in reduced coastal areas, like those located on the edge of the sea and rivers. Thus, vital social and economic impact cities like Rio de Janeiro, London and New York will suffer serious problems, and according to hypotheses, these cities may even disappear.
In addition to the rise in sea level, there are always collateral imbalance factors, as it is an adaptive event, a whole chain of changes tends to happen. Therefore, the emergence of new hurricanes resulting from changes in wind currents, of new flooding areas, blizzards, desertification and prolonged droughts, tend to make life on the planet more difficult, bringing economic crises in strategic sectors such as agriculture and real estate.
The number of ecumene areas tends to decrease over time, and countries that no longer have many areas, but of powerful economic influence, tend to get into big crises like China and Japan.
Perhaps such impacts still from a practical perspective, are actually far from our present, but not others, and possibly already more noticeable.
Tornadoes that occur in the south of the country, as well as desertification processes are direct effects, we can observe areas where housing is quite rudimentary or even unfeasible, in addition to the destruction of roads and means of connection.
Short-term changes in local climate
Also triggered by environmental impacts, the microclimate in urban environments tends to rise, this change causes secondary effects such as deterioration of the health system and increase in various respiratory diseases, cardiac, as well as an accelerated consumption of water resources.
The responsibility for the destructive escalation does not lie solely with the rich countries.
Brazil, for example, plays a major role in the depletion of its natural resources and the breakdown of its environment. Cities like São Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro have their air compromised by pollution, what causes serious illnesses, even fatal. Brazilian forests have been devastated without any control, with damage to the flora, fauna and man.
The challenge is big, but what is at stake is, before everything, the life of the planet and its inhabitants. That is why it is urgent for everyone to mobilize to save biodiversity, because whether for economic or environmental aspects, we need all the resources for our survival.
