Whatever you want on World Environment Day?

Era 1972 when it was instituted that, a partir dali, everything 5 June would be celebrated World Environment Day, and from there to here, in an overview, we can say that a lot has changed, e (very) for the best, but we can't be so optimistic.

We live in a world where countries take global sustainability initiatives, which has the capacity to collect and treat waste with more than 90% of efficiency, where renewable energy has never been so accessible and so cheap, where urban mobility modals form a network of connections in all corners, where basic sanitation and sewage treatment are opportunities to reuse waste, water management is done with professionalism, where environmental awareness and education are treated as very important subjects in schools and universities. Anyway, we live in times of agroforestry systems, ecosystem services, sustainable architecture and many other ideas and practices that make human beings believe that sustainable development is not a quest, is the way, it's the present and your day-to-day.

Nonetheless, in this same world we live in, there are countries where half of their population remains without basic sanitation, the energy is still obtained in a rudimentary way, with high emission of polluting gases, there are no connections between transport networks, prioritizing polluting and individual vehicles, selective collection, or does not exist, or is present in few regions, and again, would be here listing numerous problems, technology shortages, cooperation and environmental awareness by lines and lines. there is a division, parallel world…

The question at the beginning is: whatever you want on this world environment day? We want a connected and supportive world. The pillar of sustainability is cooperation. There is no base for the tripod (social, economic and environmental) without joint action. There is a lot being done, and it is exalting some (and many) initiatives, and there is a lot to judge whether it is really feasible to continue as it is. We need long term vision, risk management, of impacts, and circular thinking. we want sustainability, and we are happy to be able to participate in this revolution. that we continue like this.
