objective 12. Ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns

12.1 Implement the Ten Year Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption, with all countries taking action, and developed countries taking the lead, taking into account the development and capacities of developing countries.

12.2 Until 2030, achieve sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources

12.3 Until 2030, halving per capita food waste worldwide, at the retail and consumer levels, and reduce food losses along production and supply chains., including post-harvest losses

12.4 Until 2020, achieve environmentally sound management of chemicals and all waste, throughout the life cycle of these, in accordance with agreed international frameworks, and significantly reduce the release of these to the air, water and soil, to minimize its negative impacts on human health and the environment

12.5 Until 2030, Substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse

12.6 Encourage companies, especially large and transnational companies, to adopt sustainable practices and integrate sustainability information into its reporting cycle

12.7 Promote sustainable public procurement practices, in line with national policies and priorities

12.8 Until 2030, ensure that people, everywhere, have relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature

12.a Support developing countries to strengthen their scientific and technological capacities to shift to more sustainable patterns of production and consumption

12.b Develop and implement tools to monitor sustainable development impacts for sustainable tourism, that generates jobs, promotes local culture and products

12.c Rationalize inefficient fossil fuel subsidies, that encourage over-consumption, eliminating market distortions, according to national circumstances, including through tax restructuring and the phasing out of these harmful subsidies., if there are, to reflect their environmental impacts, fully taking into account the specific needs and conditions of developing countries and minimizing possible adverse impacts on their development in a way that protects the poor and affected communities.
