Webinar: New RTRS Conversion Factor System and Soy Footprint Calculator

What are soybean conversion factors and why are they important for this segment? What does the new RTRS Conversion Factor System and Soy Footprint Calculator consist of? For what purposes was it designed?

In the last years, awareness of the environmental and social impacts associated with soy production has increased in the general population, and value chain participants began to develop strategies and identify tools to enable the soy used in their supply chains to be sourced sustainably. Nonetheless, soy, frequently, is not visible in the final product or is not used directly in the product manufacturing process, making it harder to quantify.
Thus, to offer a tool that seeks to clarify for all actors in the soy chain and other interested parties, on the use of soy from production to consumption, RTRS developed the Conversion Factor System and the RTRS Soy Footprint Calculator. These tools will allow users to calculate and know, reliably and practically, the soy footprint of soy-containing products, balanced rations for animal consumption and food for human consumption.
In the second webinar of the series, the RTRS invites everyone to know the advances of this technical and research work, and the functioning and functions of the new RTRS Soy Footprint Calculator.
