It is possible to change the world, and agroecology is the answer

A documentary of 15 minutes titled "Life in Syntropy" shows the agroforestry principles used by Ernest Gotsch in the recovery of degraded systems. Working in partnership with Toca Farm that produces organics on a large scale, Gotsch and Pedro Paulo Diniz have shown the world that agroecology is a secure future for humanity.

Pedro Paulo, by the way, lives at Toca Farm, where he is a producer of organic products and a great believer in the practice of Yoga. The farm also has a very nice descriptive video, it's worth watching!

But what is agroecology?

Agroecology refers to the study of farming from a perspective ecological. Its basic units of analysis are the ecosystems agricultural, broadly addressing agricultural processes, not only aiming at maximizing production but also optimizing the agroecosystem total – including its sociocultural components, economic, technical and ecological.

currently, the term agroecology can be understood as a scientific discipline, as an agricultural practice or as a social movement e political.

In this sense, agroecology does not exist in isolation, but it is an integrative science that aggregates knowledge from other sciences., besides also adding popular and traditional knowledge from the experiences of family farmers from indigenous communities e peasant women.

Therefore, the knowledge base of agroecology is constituted through the systematization and consolidation of knowledge and practices, traditional or scientific empirical, aiming at environmentally sustainable agriculture, economically efficient and socially fair.
